Today's card
has been selected from my deck of Angel Cards by Kathy Tyler and
Joy Drake... Theoretically, they aren't Tarot Cards... They are
actually tiny little cards that can fit in the palm of your
hands... Each of them
has a positive message, unlike the Tarot... Today's message is
"Understanding"....
I keep my Angel
Cards in a small basket on my coffee table... Anyone who visits
immediately goes to the basket, closes their eyes and pulls out a
card... Then the gasps begin as the card is always exactly what
they needed to hear at the moment... Part of that is their intent
to draw a meaningful card, and part is my continual affirming that
the cards will nourish and strengthen whomever puts faith in
them...
When I
conducted my monthly women's group meetings, the first thing we did
was gather in a circle, (25-30 progressively diverse women of all
ethnicities and professions) and pass the basket of Angel Cards
around... Then we would share why our card was relevant in that
moment... From laughter to tears, naughty jokes to reverent prayers
would fill the sacred space of my living room or woods... The most
beautiful memory of that time was when our Coyote dog Star would
stand in the center of the circles while each gal pulled a card...
Star loved our women's group... We lost her this year at the
estimated age of 22, she wandered up to our farmhouse about 20
years ago half starved and pregnant... And she was a shaman in a
doggie's body.... No matter where I am living, I never turn an
animal away...
Which brings me
back to "Understanding"... My calling is to be Understanding... For
me, it is easier to understand homeless animals because they have
no hidden agenda... With humans such is not always the case! What
you see on the outside is often the complete antithesis of what the
person is like on the inside! Can you judge a book by it's cover?
Yes, and no! It depends on the situation....
The more we
become slaves to our smart phones, cell phones, rat races, and
unrealistic head trips that we put on ourselves and others,
Understanding becomes obsolete... It is difficult to understand
that which is foreign to us, especially when we do not devote time
to nurture and cultivate Understanding... Not that a little
progress isn't good, but in my not so humble opinion, progress has
become warped and twisted in some people's attempt to gain
dominionship over the world.... We need to take a greater look as
to why that is!
A little
Understanding goes a long way... The alternative leaves us naked
and stripped bare of emotion and empathy... Without Understanding
relationships will cease to exist, in our homes, jobs, communities
and throughout Mother Earth.... Then there will be nothingness,
which in an of itself doesn't sound too bad, but would contradict
the very reason we were all put here in the first
place!
The best place
to master the art of Understanding is with yourself, which is
pretty easy once you get the hang of it! Then branch outward to
those whom you hold dear... Then try a bit of Understanding in your
neighbourhood, (even with the guy who doesn't like your dogs)...
Then, if you are willing, seek to understand those who might be
very different from you because they are your teachers... None of
us are so evolved that we know everything!

Well I am surprised to know that people believe in things that are mentioned on cards. As per my opinion believing in cards is not something sensible its just a game that you may use to entertain someone. Tarot cards are not going to tell you anything real so we need to be realistic instead of dramatic.
